FLUTE_narrow Glacier White
To achieve the dept of the glaze, we fire this particular piece twice. The result is a layered glaze that evokes the quiet majesty of a glacier. Primarily a soft, translucent white, it carries a shade of pale blue that seems to surface through the texture like ice beneath snow. The finish is smooth yet subtly varied, catching light in a way that reveals its depth—cool, ethereal, and quietly luminous.
Please note that this listing includes the table base and finial. Light bulbs are included with the lamp. If you would like the shade shown in the image, it can be added for an additional flat fee of $200. A standard harp is required if you plan to use your own shade.

This ancient method of hand-building creates a direct and enduring link between the artist and the artifact.
The shapes are formed without the use of a pottery wheel, employing only the hands and basic tools. Each labor-intensive piece begins with a predefined design, yet the construction process and the variability of natural materials ensure that each creation is subtly distinct. Variations may include slight differences in size, a gentle undulation in the clay, or a variation in the glaze's intensity.
The end product is a unique and exceptional item, its traits bearing witness to the artist's personal touch.

Raphaël Giarrusso (1925-1986)
Canadian painter, sculptor and ceramist who established himself in France since 1948 until his death in 1986. Best known for his ceramics creations, he started his artistic formation in the School of Fine Arts in Montreal. Considered a promising student, he obtained a scholarship from the Canadian government to study in Paris in 1948. In Paris encountered some financial difficulties and moved to Accolay, a town of ceramists, in the region of the Yonne where some of his friends were living and producing ceramics.
In August 1953, Giarrusso started working for André Boutaud at the Poteries d'Accolay. He stayed there for ten years working as a decorator.
He became familiar with the world of ceramics, working with Daniel Auger, Turner, Fedor Iodtschine, a chemist assigned to enamels, but also with the ceramist Georges Pelletier, the sculptors François Brochet...
