About the Item

A sensational and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period Vert Antique marble and ormolu four arm candelabra lamps, attributed to Henry Dasson. Each lamp is raised by a circular base with an elegant wrap around ormolu foliate band. Above the socle pedestal are richly chased and finely etched ormolu leaves encasing the beautiful shape of the Vert Antique marble body. The body displays a central fitted foliate ormolu reserve flanked by recessed sculpted elements and a mottled border above. Each of the four striking scrolled arms displays an intricately detailed Zephyr, the god of wind, below reeded candle cups. Centering the candelabras is a most impressive and finely chased foliate finial in a rich satin and burnished finish. * Shades are shown for display purposes only.
