About the Item
A stunning and large scale pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. cobalt blue Sèvres porcelain and ormolu vases mounted into lamps. Each beautiful lamp is raised by most impressive and high quality scrolled ormolu feet with acanthus leaves and a fluted design. The base is accented with porcelain plaques framed within magnificent foliate borders. Above is a beaded ormolu band and the porcelain socle pedestal with fine foliate ormolu mounts. At each side of the body are exceptional and rare, exquisitely chased double scrolled, interlocking serpent designed handles. The handles continue along the length of the vase adorned with exceptional floral and foliate movements. The elegant vases display the warm cobalt blue Sèvres porcelain topped with reeded ormolu bands. All original gilt throughout, wonderful proportions. Shown with pleated ivory silk shades.
