About the Item
An elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and tole Bouillotte lamp. The charming lamp is raised by a circular bowl shaped base with a lovely wrap around foliate band. The circular central support displays an elegantly tapered design with additional finely detailed foliate designs leading up to three scrolled arms with fine fluted designs and adorned with acanthus leaves. Above is the original gold tooled adjustable tole shade with superb hand painted palmettes and flowers. Above is a most decorative richly chased pierced foliate wreath. The shades can be adjusted by unscrewing the fletchings of the striking arrow.
