German Bronze Oil Lamp in Original Condition
About the Item
This Aladdin lamp is German, and dates from the late 19th century, The bronze is exquisitely cast in bas-relief with masks and scrolling acanthus. The base and knopped stem ,the sliding shade support, and reservoir are all crisply cast although smoothed by time and gentle cleaning. It is great to find such a lamp in its original condition. The wick control is marked Made in Germany and under the base is cast W&W. The shade and chimney are also of the period.
