Ignazia Favata Claudio Dini Nelson lamp Bieffeplast 1976

About the Item

This rare early halogen table lamp, model Nelson, was designed by Ignazia Favata and Claudio Dini and manufactured by Bieffeplast, Italy, in 1976. A striking example of radical design, this lamp features a weighted base and an adjustable chrome arm, providing stability and flexibility. The arm and shade are both fully adjustable, allowing for a wide range of positions and angles. The lamp is finished in a matte dark grey, almost black, wrinkle paint, which contrasts beautifully with the chrome-plated arm. The solid steel arm can flip back and forth, offering versatile functionality, while the rubber adjustment knob and the distinctive red plastic button at the front of the shade add thoughtful, stylish details. The curled wire is an additional design touch that enhances the lamp's unique character. With its innovative design and numerous cool details, this lamp is a visual standout that speaks for itself—its flexibility and functionality are best appreciated through its many possible positions. In good original condition and fully functional, this lamp is a bold and intriguing piece of 1970s design. Literature; Repertorio Del Design Italiano 195o~2000 Volume 1. Giuliana Gramigna, page 245.
