About the Item

'Alba' 17" is a sculptural concrete lamp designed by London-based contemporary lighting designer James Haywood. It is created using low-impact concrete, with an environmental footprint 45 times smaller than that of Portland cement, recycled PETG (a modified plastic commonly used to manufacture water bottles) for the molds, recycled cotton for the cables, and 100% natural bamboo for the plugs and remotes. The sustainable concrete mixture, created using ground slag- a byproduct of blast furnaces- is poured into 3D-printed recycled plastic molds which are then broken to reveal the final structure- making each lamp one of a kind. The Alba 17" style features a bluetooth remote that controls the lamp's power, toggles between the color modes and dials the brightness up/down, as well as an on/off switch along the cord.
