About the Item
Exceptional pair of Mid Century Modern ceramic lamps made by famed Italian ceramist Marcello Fantoni. Handmade in Italy in 1950s.
Beautiful textured earth tones or browns, blacks, and greens with a whimsical stripe of yellow running through the center.
Each lamp is signed in the base of the lamp.
Lamps are 23” tall (34” tall with harp)
6” deep
6” wide
Sold without shades.
Please note:
One lamp is in perfect original condition. The other was found with a repair, a crack, and paint on it. This lamp was stripped of this paint and more work correcting the original fix. Then went through a few rounds of color correction to match the two lamps. The lamp is in good structural condition and looks great next to the other. There are still signs of the repair on the lamp. Please reference photos. Feel free to message for any further questions concerning the repairs.

- Condition:Additions or alterations made to the original: The repaired lamp has gone through phases of color correction through appropriate professional methods to match the two finishes. Repaired: There is an old repair to the base of one lamp. The repair has been reenforced to ensure it's structural integrity. There is still a spider crack that does not effect use. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. In good vintage condition. One lamp has been repaired and restored. Please see photos.

Marcello Fantoni
Marcello Fantoni was a Florentine artist who specialized in ceramics. He studied at the Art Institute in Florence, where Libero Andreotti and Bruno Innocenti were his sculpting professors and Gianni Vagnetti was his figurative art professor. Fantoni began to work as a ceramist in 1934, opening his factory in 1936. After the Second World War, he became very successful, and his works are held in some of the world's most important museums (from the USA to Japan).
