About the Item

A striking piece of 1980s Italian design, the “Medusa” table lamp by Austrian-born designer Olaf von Bohr was produced by the renowned lighting editor Valenti. Sculptural and bold, this rare model exemplifies the fusion of form and function that defined postmodern design. The lamp features a circular black metal base from which rise elegantly curved, white lacquered aluminum blades arranged in a dynamic spiral composition—evoking the fluid, tentacle-like movement of its namesake. The play of light and shadow through these undulating forms creates a mesmerizing visual effect. Highly collectible, the lamp bears the original Valenti label, a mark of both authenticity and quality. Whether placed in a living room, office, or bedroom, the Medusa lamp brings a strong design statement while providing atmospheric illumination. A functional light source and a sculptural object all at once, this piece is ideal for collectors and lovers of iconic 20th-century design.
