Modernist Hand-Blown Murano Rectilinear Table Lamps in Black & Translucent Glass
About the Item
This sophisticated and graphic pair of modernist table lamps were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. Stacked L-form handblown Murano rectilinear glass segments - in alternating blocks of opaque black glass and translucent glass embedded with an abundance of 24kt yellow gold- ascend from the polished brass circular base. The pieces alternate at perpendicular angles imbuing the lamp bodies with a subtle dynamism. The lamps come fitted with volumetric rectangular finials in polished brass, reiterating the material of the base at their apex. The geometric form of the segments with the wonderfully organic quality of handblown glass creates a stunning juxtaposition. Their clean modernist lines and monochromatic palate, make these lamps well suited for any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition. The lamps come fitted with custom shades.
