About the Item
Stunning organic relief hand decorated Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern porcelain table lamp by designer Olle Alberius for Swedish Rörstrand. Dark green stripes hand painted in an organic pattern on a warm mint green background giving way to a small gathering of clouds on the centre of the lamp's back and front. E27 bulb. Rewired and in beautiful condition.

Sven-Olof (Olle) Alberius (1926-1993) was a Swedish ceramist, designer and glass artist who was born in the Swedish town of Jönköping, and in the early 1950s he studied Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. In 1963 he starts working for Rörstrand where he creates several series such as Astral, Fleur, Grace, Koffi, Blå Korall and Fyris. He also designs singular vases, lamps, urns and decorative wall plaques. In 1971, Alberius moves to the town of Orrefors where he develops a variety of glass design series and items for the renowned glass company, Orrefors. He would stay with Orrefors for the rest of his working life.
