About the Item

Stunning and imposing pair French Sevres soft paste porcelain and ormolu twin handle electric table lamps of traditional Urn form, and of good size proportions, raised on reeded dome shaped circular stepped bases with ornate canted corners.   The exquisite hand painted central reserves depicting a seated Courting Couple in landscape wearing Eighteenth Century dress, back views with still life of a profusion of summer flowers, all reserves within a lavish gilt surround on a rich cobalt blue ground. The imposing pair of gilt bronze modelled as Satyr masks cast in high relief.   Mid to late nineteenth century.   Condition: Good condition with no losses to porcelain, all ormolu mounts have been professionally re-gold plated. Professionally re-wired for electricity.   Height: (entire as shown on main image) 19.5" (49.5cm). Width: (across arms) 6.5" (16.5cm).
