About the Item
A pair of rare antique Danish elephant lamps from the 1920s.
Raised on 3 elephant heads of cast iron with white painted iron tusks.
The elephant heads are attached with two screws to a black painted brass vessel that originally would have been used for petroleum as originally these lamps were produced as oil lamps.
Original E27 Bakelite bulb holders with on/off switch.
Original lampshade holders in black painted brass.
Lovely patina to the surfaces.
The lamps have been dismantled and cleaned then waxed to give a dark shine to the surfaces without the loss of patina.
Rewired with black twisted cloth flex and insulated where it passes through the lamp so no need for grounding.
Unique lighting with an English county house feel that would compliment any space.
To see a matching pair of these lamps is rare.
Can be fitted with an EU UK or US electric plug.
