Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu and Baccarat Crystal Girandoles
About the Item
An elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Baccarat crystal girandoles. Each girandole is raised by a circular ormolu base with a most decorative beaded and acanthus leaf band below the fluted socle pedestal. Five S-scrolled arms are adorned with beautiful cut crystals and ending in richly chased acanthus leaf designed bobeches and fluted candle cups. At the center are ormolu sprays with smooth amethyst colored tear drop shaped crystal pendants and swaging crystal garlands with an impressive cut crystal dagger at the top. All original gilt throughout.
