Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Rock Crystal & Crystal Girandole Lamps
About the Item
A stunning and highly quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Rock Crystal and Crystal Girandole lamps. Each six light Girandole is raised by a circular Ormolu base with a mottled edge below the lightly spiraling fluted socle pedestal with an acorn center finial above. The scrolled arms display superb acanthus leaf and foliate chandelle designs with floral candle cups adorned by beautifully cut tear drop Rock Crystal pendants. Each arm is connected with a reeded Ormolu band that is decorated by rosette Crystals, prism cut Rock Crystals, tear drop Crystals, and spherical crystals which lead up toward the top crown. The wonderfully decorated top crown consists of a six arm Ormolu spray with each arm ending with tear drop Rock Crystals hanging from star cut Crystal pendants. The Ormolu spray flanks the Ormolu crown shaped cup which holds a large impressive cut Crystal dagger.
