About the Item
A beautiful pair of "drop" table lamps in full brass paired with wooden slate shades. The wooden slates material is quite similar to rattan. These lamps were designed by Mauri Almari and manufactured by Idman. This model 61046, is the larger version of the more common 61033 smaller one. The lamps are made in cast brass and one of them has "beauty marks" from the casting process. Please refer to picture. One of the lamps is stamped Idman.

Mauri Almari (1907-1973) was a prominent Finnish lighting designer at the Idman factory alongside Paavo Tynell, Gunnel Nyman and Maria Lindeman. He has numerous lamp designs and was the main designer alongside Lindeman after the acquisition of Taito.
