About the Item
Pair of Tobacco or cognac colored Murano glass lamps handcrafted and signed by Italian master Murano Glass maker Alberto Donà. These lamps are solid and heavy and almost jewel-like. The color is rich and bold. The design is called "briolette" which derives from their faceted cut that resembles that of a diamond. Measurements are 10" H for the glass base x 12" diameter base at bottom. 15" total height to top of lightbulb socket (bottom of shade will rest at 14" from bottom of base). Brass stem and socket. Wired for U.S. use with brass and gold tone neck and fittings. This pair of Murano glass table lamps is on display at the Gallery at 200 Lex at the New York Design Center.

Alberto Donà
Alberto Donà, born in Italy in 1944, began working in the glass field at the age of 13 and became known for his ability with colors and creativity in generating unique combinations, hence his valued collaborations with important companies such as Venini, Saporiti that have relied on Donà for glass accessories. In October 2001, he had a one-man show at the Vassel Art Gallery in London. He was selected to furnish the lighting for the Hiroshima Memorial Museum.
