About the Item

Designers Delight! This pair of gilt and ivory hand painted lamps is unique because they share a similar palette. The colors are neutral with shades of green, white, yellow and grey. Each lamp is from the second third of the 20th century and they are assembled here to create a great opportunity for statement lighting. One lamp features a single hand painted gardenia with a signature that reads W. H. Tonn. It is from an American workshop, according to the appraiser. It is 30.5 inches tall and 6 inches deep and wide at the base. The other lamp is of baluster form, with a vintage botanical pattern that is hand-painted on porcelain and probably European. Both are from the second third of the 20th Century and include beautiful gilt trim and high glaze. The botanical lamp is signed indistinctly. It is 31 inches tall and 7 inches deep and wide. The botanical lamp rests on a plinth or pedestal base and the lamp that features the gardenia design rests on a round metal pedestal. We assembled the lamps, and we hope they will be a great pair for a designer or savvy decorator.

This lamp is so special, so elegant and hard to find. The palette is attractive in ivory with leaves in various shades of green and gray that appear to be falling on this vintage botanical hand-painted porcelain vasiform table lamp. This is attributed to Europe from the mid 20th century. There is a signature painted with a brush near the base of the lamp. The lamp's base is porcelain with gilt trim that is wearing in some sections. The plug is older and dates to mid-century or earlier. It presents well with an added white shade that is not included. It measures 33 inches tall from base to finial and 5 inches by 5 inches wide. The lamp's harp is old and unattractive with deep oxidation, and it will be replaced before delivery unless the buyer asks otherwise.
