Just in, this Rare Pair of massive Antique Chinese Zhadou Lamps With Famille Rose Design..
This pair is called Zhadou, these are traditional vessels with a bulbous body and flared rim, often used as spittoons.
This particular Zhadou features vibrant Orange color with Famille rose decorations including grape vines and floral motifs in cartouches all around..
Famille Rose porcelain was highly prized during the Qing Dynasty, particularly during the Guangxu period (1875-1908), and is recognized for its artistic excellence and technical craftsmanship.
Zhadous were produced in various materials, including porcelain. since the Tang Dynasty.
This pair to my knowledge is from the Republic Period it could have the Qianlong seal mark.
The top and bottom are solid wood.
Very goo to excellent condition, consistent with age and use, there are no chips or repairs
The new lamp shades are linen and have a matching Orange color lining and are available.
