Alessio Tasca was a known ceramic artist, born in Nove in 1929. In April 1949 he took part in the first exhibition of his career, the V Italian Exhibition of Sacred Art for the Christian House at the Angelicum in Milan, where he exhibited a terracotta Annunciation. In 1951 his participation in the IX Triennale di Milano with the “earthy” and engraved dishes, chosen by Gio Ponti in one of his frequent trips to Nove, met with considerable success. In 1952 he participated for the first time in the Venice Biennale in the “Venice” Pavilion for the decorative arts, with vases and plate. He was also present at the following edition of the Venice Biennale, in 1954, presenting a majolica table and two trays with figures. In 1961 he left the Tasca Artigiani Ceramisti laboratory, opening his own atelier in via Roberti where he dedicated himself above all to shaping a cycle of unique large pieces, thus returning to actual sculpture. At the Venice Biennale in 1964, again in the Decorative Arts section, he was awarded the 1st Prize (ex aequo with Pompeo Pianezzola) for ceramics. At the Gubbio Biennial in 1966 he obtained the 1st Prize in the handicraft section for the Great shield in majolica.
