Scandinavian Modern Earthenware Flower Motif Table Lamp by Tilgmans, Sweden 1960
About the Item
This handmade Scandinavian Modern earthenware table lamp was produced by Tilgmans Keramik in Sweden during the 1950s. Cylindrical in form, the lamp is decorated with a hand-sgraffito pattern featuring stylized butterflies and leaves in soft red, green, and light blue against a textured dark background. The surface has a glazed, slightly glossy finish that enhances the intricate carved lines and vibrant color contrasts. Ribbed details at the top and bottom of the base add structure and visual balance.
The lamp is stamped underneath: “Tilgmans Keramik, Made in Sweden,” marking it as an authentic piece from one of Sweden’s more innovative mid-century ceramic studios.
