Spectacular table lamp, dolphin, glass gold foil, Mid-Century 1960s Murano Italy

About the Item

This spectacular table lamp was made at the world-famous glass factory island of Murano, Venice in Italy. This object is made of masterfully hand-blown glass, made using an old process in the 1960s. The colorless glass was covered over and over with 24 carat gold foil and then mouth-blown and modeled by hand. The lamp has a round base, the glass has been twisted, then merges into an impressively hand-crafted stylized dolphin figure that stretches its tail fin upwards. This merges into the diamond-shaped lampshade, connected to a metal cuff. Please also see the photo of the light effect the lamp creates. The design of the lampshade gives off warm, diffused light and is a true phenomenon. Measurements approx.: height 14,57 in - 37 cm, diameter 5,51 in - 14 cm This table lamp is from an exciting time; these objects are hard to find anymore with this quality of thick-walled glass and this exquisite design.
