Vicke Lindstrand 45cm nude female 1936 Lamp Sweden
About the Item
This is a real lamp in mother of pearl finish by Swedish master ceramicist Gunnar Nylund. Made in 1936. It's a real lamp not as most of them a vase transformed as a lamp. There's a new high quality white linen shade, made on measurements to fit the lamp. New silk cord and electrical components for more safety.
The base is 21 cm x 17 cm diameter. The shade is 21 cm un height and 24 cm in diameter.

Viktor (Vicke) Emanuel Lindstrand, born 27 November 1904 in Gothenburg, died 7 May 1983 in Kosta, was a Swedish glass artist, designer and artist.
Vicke Lindstand became best known for her glass works, but was also a textile artist, illustrator, painter, sculptor and ceramicist. He was connected to the Orrefors glass factory 1928–1940, to the Kosta glass factory 1950–1973 and to Studioglashyttan in Åhus 1977–1983. In the years 1942–1950, he was the artistic director of Upsala-Ekeby AB with the subsidiaries Karlskrona Porslinsfabrik and Gefle Porslinsfabrik.

Large Swedish Mid-Century Modern white ceramic table lamp base / vase designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Upsala Ekeby. The form of the piece is elegantly conceived; it is tapered and fluted. The under glaze of the white exterior has burnt reddish tones which come through along the edges and give the piece depth and warmth. Furthermore, it is equipped with a pre-set drilled hole near the mouth which allows room for an electrical cord and for this piece to be used as a table lamp or a vase. Stamped: V.L. on base.
