19th Century Biedermeier Directoire style Twin Daybed Walnut & Gilded decoration . This bed has gilded designs and ebonized columns with exceptional Workmanship. Exquisitely detailed gilt trims. An incredible find for your interior design and to elevate your home Bedroom , or living area . impeccable hand carving throughout this master piece. Early Biedermeier 19th Century in The Directoire or Directory style takes its name from the period 1795–1799 when France was ruled by a government of Directors – the Directory. Directory style was not so much an independent style in itself, but rather a transitionary style between that of Louis XVI and the Consular and Empire styles. was a period in the decorative arts, fashion, and especially furniture design in France concurrent with the Directory the later part of the French Revolution. The style uses Neoclassical architectural forms, minimal carving, planar expanses of highly grained veneers . This daybed would make a fantastic addition to a traditional lounge , fine work of art , both sides of the bed are shaped into a semi-circular form , the End panels mounted with gilt .A show piece Twin Bed in Blonde light color Walnut. Some early works that date from the turn of that century anticipate the heyday of the purest form of Biedermeier, around 1820. The Biedermeier style was a simplified interpretation of the influential French Empire style of Napoleon, which introduced the romance of ancient Roman Empire styles, adapting these to modern early 19th century households.
