Antique Empire Bed, Large and Original This large and original antique Empire bed dates back to the early 1800s. It is an important Empire bed that has never been restored and is complete with everything, including the original boards that support the mattress. The grand bed is veneered in walnut with a cherry wood border outlining the frame. The frames are ebonized. The decorative motifs in tinplate found in the three ovals and throughout the ebonized parts are very beautiful and rich, all decorative elements that reflect the neoclassical style. External dimensions: Width 196 cm - Length 218 cm Internal usable dimensions: Width 185 cm - Length 207 cm Maximum height of the headboard: 177 cm - Footboard: 115 cm (measurements taken from the 4 tinplate pinnacles). The footboard and headboard are adorned with precious curved and flowing curls. In good age-related condition, with old welds consistent with age, the wrought iron shows a beautiful naturally aged patina which highlights its authenticity and charm.
