About the Item

Period Antique Federal American 4 poster bed in West Indies mahogany, c. 1820. A fine example of a Southern bed featuring carved tobacco and acanthus leaves in a fine tight grained Cuban mahogany. All original without any restoration including original finish. Bed will fit a custom mattress that is 72" wide x 76 " long. Adaptations to a standard queen or king can be made on request in our workshop or we can order a high quality custom mattress and foundation to fit the existing bed.
