About the Item

A Swedish carved-wood dog bed from the early 20th century. This antique dog bed from Sweden has a wonderful sleigh bed design, with exaggerated head and foot posts raising up into lovely scrolled volutes. The sides are nicely appointed with carved brackets, square-shaped panels, and a straight skirt. Four wooden legs, carved with a subtle concave design which gives them a sweetly rhythmic feel, lifts the bed up from the floor. The wood has a nicely aged patina throughout. Please note that there are some small pieces of trim missing. This early 20th century Swedish sleigh bed is best suited for a smaller-sized pup, or perhaps the purr-fect lounger for your kitty cat to enjoy!
