About the Item
Our Sunnybrook four poster pencil post bed featuring four hand carved Folk Art inspired bird finials is shown as a Queen in our Antiqued Maple finish. Shown are a Tufted Titmouse, a Red Breasted Nuthatch, a Black Capped Chickadee and an American Goldfinch. The birds can be rearranged, or we can execute a custom carved finial of your choosing. We have included an example of a custom version of this bed with our Little Compton style headboard in our Cherry Stain with a Blue Jay, Canary, Hummingbird and Cardinal. Post heights are also customizable.

Scott James Furniture & Design specializes in hand-made furniture covering a range of styles and fabrication techniques. We are most known for our four poster beds using traditional mortise and tenon joinery available in a range of styles from Contemporary to Traditional. We also work in case and accent pieces, side tables and dining tables, utilizing complex joinery, veneers and even caning and intricate carving. We work out of our Tiverton Rhode Island workshop with a group of expert craftsman. We primarily work in domestic hardwoods such as walnut and oak but also specialist in mahogany and other more unique species. We primarily work with Architects and Interior Designers and are open to custom fabrication and projects. Founded in 1984, we have a long history of making modern American heirlooms, with an attention to detail, craft and quality.
