Extraordinary Carved Mahogany Full Bed With Swans
About the Item
An elaborately carved full bedstead with intricate swan carvings. The headboard with a gadrooned carved acanthus motif trim around the parquetry herringbone inlay. The arched headboard is flanked by two heavily carved long necked swans. A third swan sits atop the footboard with wings gracefully outspread and the whole is resting on stylized front paw feet and scrolled back feet. The bed is a mix of light and dark woods and comes with side rails and supports which are later and custom.
Dimensions: 60 3/4" W, 80" L, 51 1/2" H
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include nicks to the rail edges and some gentle wear which does not detract from the extraordinary presentation.
