MID-18th CENTURY DOUBLE BED HEADBOARD WITH EMBROIDERY

About the Item

Refined double bed headboard with regular dimensions, made of carved wood and embellished with a painted frame. The background fabric is in fine gold-colored silk velvet. The embroidery, characterized by cornucopias and a stylised vase from which flowers and floral swirls emerge, symbols of abundance and happiness, make the headboard even more elegant. This refined headboard, rich in taste and history, is able to furnish the bedroom with class. Manufactured in central Italy in the mid-18th century. Measurements: H x W x D 91 x 190 x 4cm

I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. Please enjoy for many, many years to come. This bed is made from 100% solid walnut and real leather. The frame is a solid 2 inches thick and is supported by two turned legs at the foot of the bed that are attached through a visible wedged mortise and tenon joint, which adds a subtle but interesting detail to the frame.
