About the Item
The striking and beautiful Nola bed is our take on the live-edge style. The headboard features a hand-picked solid slab of claro walnut and a zinc encased in epoxy resin edge that has been cut with precision and flawlessly affixed to the curves of the live edges of the walnut. The unique metal encased in resin side offers beauty with functionality – not only is the resin easy to maintain and incredibly smooth, but also non-porous (no stains or moisture issues) and quite resilient to heat and scratching. The headboard features a few butterfly details (that can be done in walnut or metal). The base features a beautiful walnut platform. Attached to the bed are two floating end tables that feature a zinc encased in resin exterior with beautiful claro walnut drawer faces. Black leather lines the interior of the drawers and the custom pulls are crafted from leather and blackened bronze.

Wüd was conceived in 2002 by its founder, Corey Springer, a sculpture design graduate from the University of Massachusetts. Springer’s work draws inspiration from Japanese design and his background in sculpture, both figuring prominently in his design process. There is also a clear emphasis on superb craftsmanship that is apparent in all of Wüd’s creations.
