A charming and elegant pair of period Louis XVI (1774-1792) French chiffoniers. circa 1930 Exquisitely hand-crafted in France in the late 19th century, most likely Parisian work, high-quality solid wood construction finished in exotic kingwood, tulipwood, mahogany, and other exotic woods marquetry are parquetry-work. Having a tall narrow rectangular shaped case with distinctive canted corners, fitted with one dovetailed drawer and one door.The drawer facades adorned with intricate flower marquetry inlays framed by delicate cross-banding, flanked by traditional Neoclassical gilt bronze ormolu mounts, rising on tapered legs adorned in finely inlaid fillets, surmounted by the original Brèche d'Alep marble tops.
