About the Item
The Mikado Collection is inspired by the game "Pick a Stick" we used to play in childhood. Tubes of thick copper, which remind us of the Mikado sticks game, are cut at precise angles and fitted with great accuracy in the furniture, providing much-needed support. Each tube can hold a flower, making this table even more surprising and unique.
Although designed as a bedside table, this piece can also be used as a side table in your living room. Its form is light and fluid, with the tabletop appearing to float over the finely crafted legs. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture.
The listed piece is mastercrafted of carefully selected black oak wood, black lacquered wood, and handmade brushed copper. However, we can also manufacture this table in customised options.
Structure: Stainless steel (polished or brushed); brass (polished or brushed); or copper (polished or brushed). The polished or brushed finish is handmade by the author.
Tabletop: Another kind of wood (walnut, tineo, ebony macassar, ironwood) or lacquer colour.
Custom dimensions are only available after analysis.
In all its versions, the bedside table houses a discrete drawer in a different wood veneer, which adds a surprising touch.

In 2018, it won a "Silver A' Design Award" in the "Furniture, Decorative Items, and Homeware Design" category.
This piece is entirely made in Portugal and manufactured artisanally. The author carefully executed or supervised every process step in a small workshop context.
