A Pair of Art Deco Bedside Chests
About the Item
These Art Moderne bedside chests date to the 1930's and were made in Czechoslovakia. The Czechs and the Hungarians embraced very modern Art Deco styles in the interwar years. The Art Moderne variant of Art Deco was particularly popular because of its affinity for industrial and even Bauhaus designs. They are made of beech and maple wood veneers with a black lacquer walnut base. They have been meticulously restored and returned to their original condition. Being streamlined and simple, they blend easily with modern interior design schemes.
