About the Item
This striking pair of bedside tables was produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1940s, capturing the refined elegance of the late Art Deco period. The design is characterized by its generous proportions (57 cm in height), gently curved corners, and clean, flowing lines — hallmarks of the era’s transition toward modernism.
Each table features a spacious drawer and a lower compartment with a hinged door, offering practical storage while maintaining a sleek silhouette. The original resin and chrome handles add a subtle unique touch, beautifully complimenting the rich wood-effect finish.
The surfaces are finished using the traditional faux wood graining technique (also known as wood graining), a hand-painted decorative process popular at the time.
