About the Item

We are delighted to offer this very decorative pair of Walnut, Satinwood & Mahogany French Marquetry inlaid Bombe chests of drawers A very good looking and well made pair of vintage bombe chests. The timber patina is exquisite, highly burred with a mixture of Walnut, Rosewood, Satinwood and mahogany Size wise, they would make lovely large bedside tables or any kind of side / end table for a sitting room, imagine a lamp picture frame and or glass of wine and you have the right idea Condition wise they are vintage so will have some patina as you would expect, the marble tops have some wear and a coating discolouration in places and a small patch has peeled off, they have been cleaned waxed and polished from top to bottom and are in very fine order Dimensions Height:- 70cm Width:- 78.5cm Depth:- 42.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

This elegant, kidney-shaped fruitwood antique commode was crafted in France, circa 1950. The commode sits on cabriole legs ending with bronze sabot mounts over a scalloped apron decorated with a bronze mount.
