About the Item
A thoughtful collaboration between AA Studio and Mokko Seishin, the KADO Nightstands are crafted in solid white oak with no veneer, and finished in a natural wax oil to enhance the warmth and grain of the wood.
Named after the Japanese word kado—meaning “corner” or “edge,” and also referencing the art of flower arranging (ikebana)—these nightstands are designed as an asymmetrical pair that turn inward, evoking the intimacy of a quiet dialogue.
Each piece features a subtly faceted door front that opens to reveal angled internal shelving, while a sloped top edge serves both a visual and functional role, containing objects and echoing the design’s angular language. Traditional joinery is highlighted through exposed through-tenons, underscoring the care and craftsmanship behind each piece.
