19th Century Walnut Table Top Childs Size Bureau

About the Item

An Extremely Good Quality And Very Attractive Late 19th Century Walnut Table Top, Or Childs Size, Bureau, In The 18th Century Georgian Style, Having Attractive Gil Moulded Decoration Throughout And Superbly Figured Fall Front, Enclosing Drawers And Pigeon Holes, Over One Long Drawer With Original Handles, Raised On Original Shaped Bracket Feet.  This rather charming little miniature bureau almost certainly started life as an additional piece of decoration and talking point for a desk, or library table, whilst at the same time adding practicality in terms of the additional storage which it offers.  Constructed in the late 19th century using high end and decorative timbers it has been executed in the early 18th century style and overall the construction is carried out very well indeed. Certainly the piece could be described as well made.  Its condition is excellent with just a few old, insignificant, historic repairs and it reatains a lovely rich colour to the well figured veneers.  This could be used in a whole host of places around the home or office and could either be emplyed for function, say on top of a desk in an office, or maybe as a jewellery cabinet in a bedroom on top of a chest of drawers, or alternatively it could just be used as a bit of a talking point and feature in the home on top of an existing piece of furniture which is a bit different to other items. As with all of the items which we offer for sale this table top bureau has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, specialist trained antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being placed onto sale, to ensure that it is ready for immediate placement and function.  Circa 1880.  Height 11in.
