About the Item

An Extremely Untouched And Original Mid 19th Century Victorian Period Elm Childs Size Wheelbarrow, Retaining Attractive Period Red Paint Finish, With Elegant Original Shaped Handles, Solid Sides And Lovely Attractive Original Wooden Wheel. This slightly unusual item would have been made in the 19th century as a wheelbarrow for a child. It would probably have been a scaled version of the same design full size one being made for the house at the same time.  Now of course it could be used in a variety of different ways, both inisde the home and out. Just a few uses we could think of is as a decorative fireside log container, an unusual waste paper basket, something to transport a pets food around in, or even just as a lovely and interesting decorative item. It is well weathered and worn, as one would expect and want for and article like this of the age it is. What is nice however is that it appears to reatain its original 19th century red painted finish. It also retains its original wooden wheel which is a lovely feature. This is an unusual and interesting item which is in an extremely nice untouched condition. So there are lots of old blemishes, scuffs, scrapes, repairs and similar as one would expect, all of which add to the overall appeal of the piece. For clarity however it is very much fit for original purpose and the operational. Circa 1870. Height 16.5in. Width 34in. Depth 13.5in.
