We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely original handmade Kenyan Turkana leather and iron bound fighting shield which has been expertly mounted to a Gillows quality hardwood and brass Regency circa 1810 pedestal base
A very fine example, these rarely come off for sale, this is in 100% period original condition, it dates to the late 19th century circa 1880, as mentioned the base is circa 1810 and is in very fine Brazilian hardwood
The condition is exquisite for the age, the leather has a patination to die for, this really is a very fine piece of art indeed
