About the Item
Royal House Antiques
Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning and very rare English Armorial Crest coat of arms that covers a period of 1405-1603 hand carved in solid walnut dating to circa 1780.
A truly sublime piece, I have never seen an armorial crest of this detail and quality before, it is truly exquisite, I absolutely love every bit of it. To confirm the crest itself covers the period of 1405-1603 meaning those were the dates that this piece was used by the Royal Family, I don’t think it dates to that period, I would say its late 18th century circa 1780
The Kings and Queens this coat of Royal Arms would have been associated with were (in order): Henry IV, V, VI, Edward IV, V, Richard III, Henry VII, VIII, Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I.
I have been collecting armorial crests for a couple of years now, I have this one, another in a shield dating to 1660 and a Charles II dating to 1660-1685, they are both listed under my other items.
This one is in walnut, it has sublime hand carved markings from top to bottom, the sideways facing Lion with the crown is an absolute must for the true royalist collector.
