An exciting retelling of Jack the Giant Killer, beautifully illustrated throughout by Richard Doyle, a smart copy. A vivid retelling of 'The Story of Jack and the Giants', also known as 'Jack the Giant Killer'. This tale is a classic and beloved Cornish fairy tale, following young farmer Jack who slays giants during the reign of King Arthur. Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title, six plates, and in-text engravings, by Richard Doyle. Doyle was one of the most prominent illustrators of the Victorian era, known for his work for 'Punch'. Engraved by the Brothers Dalziel. A new edition. Four pages of adverts to the rear. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the spine. A few minor marks to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional light spot and handling mark. Overall: Near Fine
