A fine first edition copy of this unique and thrilling novel by Angela Carter, a wonderful example of postmodern fiction, signed by the author to the title page. The first edition, first impression. Signed by the author to the title page. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. 'Nights at the Circus' is a postmodern novel on the life of Sophie Fevvers, a Cockney virgin who was hatched from an egg. A unique novel mixing various genres, the novel won the 1984 James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Written by Angela Carter, a noted author of feminist, magical realism, and picaresque novels. She is best known for 'The Bloody Chamber'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Dust wrapper is fine. Internally, firmly bound.
