In the publisher's original unclipped first issue dust wrapper, priced £12.99, and with the Pratt St. address correctly appearing as 7-9 to the rear flyleaf, and with POINT to the back strip tail. With Carnegie Medal Sticker to the dust wrapper front wrap. Pullman's novel follows the journey of the young Lyra Belacqua to the Arctic in search of her missing friend, Roger Parslow, and her mysterious uncle, Lord Asriel, who has been conducting experiments with a mysterious substance. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Dust wrapper exceptionally vibrant, with Carnegie Medal sticker to head of front wrap. Light edgewear to tail of front and rear wraps, with laminate lifting slightly in these locations. Minor closed tear to head of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a just a touch age toned to perimeters, as is common with this work. Otherwise, clean and bright. Overall: Fine
