Bodies of Words is a spectacular full-color book of text-based tattoos and the stories behind them. A collection of raw and naked expression — will be the first book from December Press in 10 years. Bodies of Words began with hopes of understanding why a particular text is significant enough to an individual to give it a permanent home on their body. These tattoos are authentic and deeply significant to their wearers and share stories much deeper than their surface depictions. The writers and other creative individuals who submitted to Bodies of Words shared their stories wholeheartedly with us, and we are showcasing them so that their tattoos (and the stories behind them) will be as authentic and meaningful to our readers as they are to those who proudly wear them.
