Paris: Les Éditions de l'Amateur, 1989. Hardcover with dust jacket. French text. 700 pp. A beautiful large book of 19th century French furniture. The book has 32 pages of color plates and many black and white illustrations. It is the final volume by Denise Ledoux-Lebard, National Museum of Versailles, which covers the 19th c in its entirety, from the revolutionary period to the end of the 1880s and the appearance of Art Nouveau. Included is detailed information on about 5,000 cabinet makers, carpenters, tilers, cutters, marquetry, manufacturers of all kinds and timber merchants.
