Iron and Brass Implements of the English and American House by J. Seymour Lindsay. Published by London : Alec Tiranti, 1964. 1st Ed thus hardcover with dust jacket. The illustrated standard reference book. This was the first book written in English about the useful domestic implements that once formed the most important part of household equipment. The book is divided into six sections: the hearth and fireplace; cooking and other kitchen utensils; maintenance of artificial light; metalwork dealing with tobacco smoking; miscellaneous examples; and a section on American-Colonial metalwork.
