Pirelli Calendar 2004 Shot by Nick Knight in London

About the Item

Pirelli Calendar 2004 Shot by Nick Knight in London Collector's item ‎- Photography - Colors Measures : ~60cmx44cm For the 2004 Pirelli calendar, photographer Nick Knight and art director Peter Saville shifted the focus from men's desires to those of women. From fourteen conversations with eminent women, Knight constructed narratives for each month based on their most intimate sexual fantasies. The specific author of each remains a secret, but their fantasies are brought to life in Knight's images. We may not know whose is whose, but we do have their names: Björk, Catherine Deneuve, Tracey Emin, Marianne Faithfull, Heidi Fleiss, Emma Forrest, Courtney Love, Stella McCartney, Catherine Millet, Aimee Mullins, Isabella Rossellini, Emmanuelle Seigner, Liv Tyler and Elizabeth Wurtzel. Pair of Sterling Silver Knights On Horseback, Import Marked London 1927
By Israel Segalov
Located in London, London
Carrying import marks for London in 1927 by Israel Segalov, this wonderful pair of Sterling Silver Knights On Horseback, are handsomely modelled. Each measures roughly 12.25"(31cm) tall, by 12.5"(32cm) wide, by 4.5"(11.5cm) deep, and the pair together weigh 96 troy ounces. The design for the Knights is taken from a relief which can be found at the tomb of Emperor Maximilian I in the 'Hofkirche' of Innsbruck in Germany. The relief shows Emperor Maximilian I at the Battle of the Spurs (also known as the (second) Battle of the Guinegate), and was created by Albrecht Durer. The knights are believed to depict Emperor Maximilian I & King Ferdinand I.
