A Renaissance Treasury by Laurie Winters. Published by Hudson Hill Press, 1999. Stated 1st Ed Hardcover with dust jacket Exhibition Catalog. This carefully researched and richly illustrated book celebrates the generous gift of almost one hundred works of medieval and Renaissance decorative arts and sculptures by the Richard and Erna Flagg family to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Richard and Erna Flagg collection is one of the most important single donations of European decorative arts to an American museum. Published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alabama, on Apr. 17-June 14, 1998; Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University, Oct. 12, 1999-Jan. 2, 2000 and at four other museums in the United States.

Painting, sculpture, and the graphic arts were pursued with a new vigor in the Netherlands, in Germany, in France, and in England, and resulted in a vast body of work that constitutes one of the glories of Western civilization.
