Sotheby's; The Jerome Rapoport Collection of American Aesthetic Silver. New York: Sotheby's, 1996. Unpaginated softcover. In the 1870's the American Aesthetic Movement broke from Traditional Design motives and moved toward Japonism. Pieces include a circular salver by Tiffany & Co. with an image of a pine branch on a hammered ground, a Tiffany's gourd-shaped tray with an iris and a dragon fly, a Gorham sugar bowl and creamer with shore birds, and much more.
